Below is my first painting in my first permanent studio. The work Darwin on Fire is nearly complete; before begining the difficult and horrible process of painting words upon this beautiful painting. The pixelated style of this painting was very difficult and time consuming to execute. And now after so much effort; I might ruin my painting by dividing the painting into 20 pages and painting the words of Charles Darwin upon this canvas. But I must go forward. From the beginning, the purpose of this painting was to capture the fire in Darwin's words, that are as powerful and reasoned today as when they were written. So write here, I am at midpoint (in terms of painting work). I am about to paint words on canvas. And those words, of Charles Darwin, form a very short autobiography in 20 short pages of his various words, edited from his many writings. Of course the title, Darwin on Fire, refers to the fire in Darwin's words; as well as a reference to those who would burn his books if not him (even today). Simultaneously, in another workshop room; I was also building and painting a collage from found objects titled On the Origin of Species
