The words on this painting are ideas for paintings;  some have been completed, some will never be done. When it is time to begin my next painting, I consider all the ideas in my notebooks (and elsewhere). Then I decide, "ah, this is the idea I will paint." Then I decide upon images. styles, titles and words; all of which will change in the actual work of painting.
